Cooperators Centre (Evraz Place) Map to Brandt Centre

Driving Instructions to Cooperators :

From the East: Hwy-1 (Trans Canada) west to Regina. In Regina, Hwy-1 becomes Victoria Avenue. Continue west on Victoria Ave. approx. 5 km past Rt-11 to Elphinstone Street. Turn right on Elphinstone St. and proceed north a short distance (approx. 0.1 km) to complex entrance on the left. Turn left into complex and proceed west approx. 0.5 km to arena.

From the West (Moose Jaw): Hwy-1 (Trans Canada) east approx. 60 km to Lewvan Drive. Turn left on Lewvan Dr. and proceed north approx. 5.5 km to Saskatchewan Drive. Bear right onto Saskatchewan Dr. and proceed east approx. 0.75 km to Elphinstone Street. Turn left on Elphinstone St. and proceed north a short distance (approx. 0.1 km) to complex entrance on the left. Turn left into complex and proceed west approx. 0.5 km to arena.

From Saskatoon: Rt-11 south approx. 240 km to Rt-6 South/Albert St. in Regina. Proceed south on Rt-6/Albert St. approx. 6 km to Dewdney Avenue. Turn right on Dewdney Ave. and proceed west approx. 0.75 km to Elphinstone Street. Turn left on Elphinstone St. and proceed south a short distance (approx. 0.3 km) to complex entrance on the right. Turn right into complex and proceed west approx. 0.5 km to arena.

TOURNAMENT RULES

  1. This is an SHA sanctioned tournament and follows CHA and SHA rules governing minor hockey. Body-checking is not allowed.
  2. All referees and linesmen are carded officials.
  3. Each team will be allowed a five minute warm up prior to the game.
  4. Home team wears white. Visiting team wears darks. If a team only has one colour, they may negotiate to wear their darks as a home team.
  5. Game Duration – All games will be 3 - 15 minute stop time periods with the exception of the A final which will be 3 – 20 minute stop time periods. If there is a five goal or more spread in the third period there will be straight time. If the spread goes back to under five goals the period returns to stop time. The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust playing time of any and all games.

- G.06 (Hockey Regina 2009/2010 Bylaws, Regulations, Policies) Length of games as per E.9 to E.15. At the start of the third period the required time will be placed on the game clock. If during the third period there is less than five (5) minutes remaining in the allotted ice time and there is more than two (2) minutes remaining on the game clock, the timekeeper will notify the referee  during the first stoppage in play and the game clock will be adjusted down to two (2) minutes of stop time. The arena clock shall be deemed the official clock for the purpose of determining the end of the allocated ice time.
Note: Minor penalties in running time will be 3 minutes and major penalties will be 7 minutes in duration.  ALL RINK MARSHALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

  1. Overtime – There will be no overtime in pool play. For Saturday and Sunday play the overtime will be as follows:
    1. The teams will play five minutes stop time of sudden victory overtime playing 3 on 3. Should a penalty occur, the non-offending team will add a player and the penalized player will return to the ice after his penalty. At the first whistle after the expiration of the penalty the teams will return back to 3 on 3.
    2. If the winner is not determined after the five minutes overtime, a shoot-out will decide the winner. The shoot-out will consist of three (3) players from each team alternating shots. The visiting team shoots first. If still tied after 3 shooters, teams will alternate shooters in a sudden death format. Rosters must be depleted before any player may shoot a second time.

Note that the teams will not change ends in overtime.

  1. As per Regulation 9 of the SHA handbook, the tie breaking procedure for teams tied in pool play will be as follows:
    1. Best win record in games between tied teams.
    2. If still tied, best win record.
    3. If still tied, best plus minus record based on goals for and against with maximum of + or -7goals/game used in calculation
    4. If still tied, the team with the best goal average as determined by dividing the total number of goals for by the total number of goals for and against, for all the games in pool play.
    5. If still tied, the team to qualify would be the team that scored the earliest goal in the game between the tied teams.
    6. If still tied, the winner will be decided by a single coin toss.

Note:  In the event that two or more teams are tied, once the tie breaking rules have been used to advance one team, the procedure to break the remaining tie will revert back to the beginning criteria.

  1. Any player or coach receiving a match penalty or gross misconduct will be suspended for the remainder of the tournament.
  2. Each team will be allowed one 30 second time out per game.
  3. Protests will not be allowed.
  4. Coaches will pick their own Legend of the Game player for all games including medal rounds. A child can only be a game MVP once during the tournament.
